PAYROLL
Pay is deposited into your account on Friday morning.
No. You work a week and are paid the following Friday.
There is no minimum hours required before being eligible for statutory holiday pay. You must work your full scheduled shift before and after the holiday. Statutory holiday pay will appear as a dollar amount on your paystub – not as hours. We can only process stat pay once we have received timesheets confirming you have worked both your scheduled shift both before and following the holiday.
Payworks online is where you will find both Paystubs and T4’s. It is important you take the time to learn how to login. Some key points to remember:
i) the payroll number starts with the letter ’o’ followed by a zero
ii) both the username and login involve a combination of both upper and lower case symbols, numbers and letters. ENTER CAREFULLY! It can be tricky initially getting logged on – this is for enhanced security. After three unsuccessful login attempts new pass codes will need to be issued.
iii) should you have problems – please call the office 705.730.1899 ext 22
iv) if you do not own a computer, you have free access to a computer/printer for Payworks purposes here at the ESS Direct office .
Time sheets must be to our office by Monday at Noon. This is very important if you wish to get paid on time! This also applies to weeks in which there are holidays.
Time sheets can be dropped off in person - there is a drop box to the right of the ESS Direct offices front door. Fax – 705.730.1018. Scan, or take a photo and send via email – tanya@essdirect.ca.
On occasion, there may be circumstances where you may not be able to get your time sheet signed for payroll. Please submit your completed time sheet as quickly as possible to ESS Direct, and we will assist you in getting the hours authorized.
ATTENDANCE
Please refer to your contact information sheet/card. Contact the company you are working for immediately, then give ESS Direct a call.
Walking off the job – ESS Direct will no longer represent you to our client companies and the company will not pay for the day’s hours.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Safety footwear is required on ALL non-administrative temporary assignments. A few companies require specifically a work boot - if this is the case, you would be notified when the assignment is being offered.
Don’t have safety boots and wish to start an assignment with ESS Direct??? Ask about our ‘borrow a boot’ program. We will help you get started!
ASSIGNMENT INFORMATION
We at ESS Direct understand that on occasion you may accept an assignment that may not be exactly what you are looking for. Please do not walk off the job and contact us following your shift. If it is possible, commit to the end of the week to allow us the time needed to find a replacement for you.
Legally we must provide you your placement information in ‘print’ as close to your assignment start date as possible. You can stop by and pick it up or we can send it to you via email.
T4’s
T4’s are ready the third week of January. They are available for pick up here at the ESS Direct office or online through your Payworks account.
